Wiivv Wearables, which recently closed a $3.5 million seed round, has broken the record for most funded 3D printed product in Kickstarter history following the completion of its campaign.

For perspective, Kickstarter was founded in 2009. Wiivv has seen much success lately, as the company raised 470 percent of its funding goal — it raised its $50,000 goal in two days — and its founders were featured in the Forbes Top 30 under 30 under the manufacturing category. It was also a top four finalist at TechCrunch’s CES hardware battlefield. The bionics company’s insole product, called BASE, allows customers to take pictures of their foot via a smartphone app to receive a custom-made 3D printed insole.

“We are truly honored by the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve received surrounding BASE by Wiivv custom insoles,” said co-founder Shamil Hargovan. “It’s a great feeling, knowing that we are creating a product that is accessible to the masses on a customized, individual level and we’re excited to share with the world later this year what we have coming next.”

While Hargovan is based in Seattle, Wiivv’s co-founder, Louis-Victor Jadavji, is based in Vancouver. Wiivv’s headquarters and its manufacturing and research facility are based in Vancouver and San Diego respectively.
